I was the fuel/oil king and served from Sept 1970-Sept 1971. Also was on the turn over crew when the ship was turned over to Indonesian navy.

Served on ARL 30 from Oct 1970 until turn over on Guam. I worked with Boiler gang as a new recruit fresh from basic. Turned 18 yrs old on the ship in May 1971. I remember the beer barge and the many new friends I made on my first ship. After 4 years in the Navy I worked for Navy Supply at Mechanicsburg for 34 years, retiring in 2008.

I served aboard Askari from '66 to '67. I was in the deck force when I first went aboard - then got in the ship's office over in Viet Nam. I was onboard when we sliced into the Benewah in Subic Bay.
