Comments: I arrived Askari in June (69)till June (70) a Chief Shipfitter assigned to Diving locker as Senior Diver on board. We did all types of underwater repairs and inspections to all types of River Boats alongside Askari and also in remote locations in South Vietnam. We had a great crew it was work every day with a BBQ on Sunday on the Ami barge when possible. The only Sailor from the Askari I am still in contact with is Marvin Hadley SF2 DV would like to hear from any shipmates.
Comments: Served aboard the USS Askari from 07-70 to 06-71. I did nothing to distinguish myself during my tour, but the experience will never be forgotten.

Comments: Served in the Radio Shack (RM2) from October 1970 until Guam ended it all. What a short but sweet ride as the memories will always be with me. What a fantastic and hard working group of ship-mates of which I was proud to be a part of!
