Served as SFP3 from 3-69 thru 3-70. At the time I was happy to get off her. I now look back with fond memories. I am proud to have served with the good men of the Askai. The Very Best to you all!!!

I served on the USS Krishna 9/70-9/71 and it appears the site for Krisna went away so I wanted to show my daughter some history of ARLs in Vietnam so she would have a better understanding of my role in country.

I can't thank you enough for creating this page. My dad was Cdr. WJ Bartee. The Askari was a big part of his life. He is no longer with us. It made me feel a little like he was sitting here with me looking over the pictures of "his" baby. God bless you and thank you.

My father, Commander Walter Knight, served as the last captain of the Askari. He would love to hear from any of his shipmates. He retired in 1975. If y'all have a reunion, please let him know. Thanks to all of you for your service.

Glad to see some are still around. Answered a fire call in 1972 from my fav. beer barge. The Park County responded as did elements of UDT13. We had a great time that nite. Salute guys.....
